Of the many recordings that went into Full Body Explosion, perhaps the best was the Escondido “embedded” session of March 3o. The spirited talent of the men and women is now mixed into the iPhone app FullBodyExplosion. Yes, you can definitely distinguish the burp of male from female.

And yes, many of the FBE recordings are the real thing.

Loud mouths are Jenn Moore, Marc Basso, Kathleen Kuechler, Evan Martin, Sarah Esserlieu. If you ask nice, they might come back for a YouTube session.

ESCONDIDO, Ca. — June 6 2009 — Digital Lantern received approval from Apple Inc. to sell FullBodyExplosion through their iTunes App Store. FullBodyExplosion is a scientific spatial audio application for pranksters and players with a fine musical ear. It is based on a somewhat rare medical condition, Synsomaticexplosia, when digestive irritation and gasses expand in a body and erupt all at once. Perhaps a yawn has led to a cough but keeps on going. With Full Body Explosion, play the golden eight prank sounds each with five variations, or as a deliciously insane experiment through an automatic sequence. Or just make body music.

The iPhone application was produced by Digital Lantern with audio engineering from Earwax Productions. Digital Lantern has been producing fine digital products since 1992. Inquires to jobeau@mac.com
